there is something for every taste
The Alde Gott is not only part of an old legend but also a nearby winery in Sasbachwalden. Hike the “Alder Gott” connoisseur trail or discover the different types of wine directly. Special feature: In cooperation with the Vierthaler family, a “special edition EM-Treasure 2018 ” produced. These selected varieties were supplied with effective microorganisms and active biochar as a nutrient source and are exclusively available directly from the winery Alde Gott or the Vierthaler family. By buying these sustainably grown wines, you are supporting the preservation of the flora and fauna and, by sowing flowering meadows, the biodiversity in the vineyard.
The cherry blossom in the valley is always a special event in April. Even after you have left the autobahn, you will come to the Achertal via the B3. At the beginning there are a few fruit trees and then the number increases steadily until you can see the first vineyards on the left. There are numerous bike paths that lead along or through the fruit trees. At the end of April / beginning of May, the neighboring communities and their associations offer wine and beer hikes together.

Hahn & Henne – Zell a. H
Who doesn’t know the bright green-yellow cups, plates and egg cups with Black Forest rooster and Black Forest hen? The friendly chicken couple will now also accompany you on the 14 kilometer long “cock and hen tour” around the Hinterhambachtal near Zell am Harmersbach. The Premium Trail and Black Forest Gourmet Trail lead in a varied way, sometimes through mossy, sometimes through sparse fir forests, along the edges of the forest, over wide meadow paths. Often the eyes wander over lonely farms, the idyllic Harmersbach and Hinterhambachtal. Would you like to enjoy the path and nature in peace? Then lace up your hiking boots during the week or even on Monday or Tuesday when the two inns Bergbauernhof and Vogt auf Mühlstein are closed. The special thing about the rooster and hen tour: the most beautiful views are adorned with lovingly designed benches and rest areas in a rooster and hen look. From them you can enjoy the Black Forest’s cultural landscape at its best: For centuries, the farmers have created a mosaic of fields, arable land, pastures and orchards, their stately farms lie in the middle, and the wooded mountain peaks of the Harmersbach and Hinterhambach valleys rise all around. Connoisseurs will appreciate the silence of nature as much as the rustic atmosphere in the three snack bars. The highlights are the views from the plateaus over the mountains of the central Black Forest to the Alsatian Vosges. Refreshment tips: PLEASE NOTE: On Mondays and Tuesdays, backpack vesper day. The mountain farm and Gasthaus Vogt auf Mühlstein are closed on these working days. A FOREST IS CREATING NEW In 1999, the hurricane “Lothar” plowed a deep swath through the forest on the peaks of the northern Black Forest. On the Lothar Path you can experience how nature develops after a storm without human intervention and the power with which new forests are created. Many insects and fungi found new habitats in the dead wood, and young trees grow wildly upwards. The adventure trail leads over footbridges, ladders and stairs. A viewing platform offers distant views over the ridges of the northern Black Forest and into the valley. Rangers of the national park regularly offer guided tours along this path. SLIDES THROUGH THE FOREST Again and again, individual lynxes roam the Black Forest. So far they have not settled here, but if you want to get to know the big cat better on quiet paws, you can follow their tracks on the lynx trail. It starts with a lot of information in the lynx hut. At the start you can also hear its call – the perfect setting for the five-kilometer route. You walk past many adventure stations through forests where the lynx would feel comfortable. Here children can experience how lynxes sneak, jump, peek and hear. Halfway there is a vespers place surrounded by tall beech trees. Alpine feelings rarely arise in the Black Forest. The contemplative low mountain range generally impresses with its gentle, hilly meadows and forests. But there are also places here where good footwear, surefootedness and a head for heights are required. One of the most beautiful areas of this type is the Karlsruher Grat near Ottenhöfen, which can easily compete with high mountain climbing routes and which is even more attractive as a destination thanks to the connection with the wild and romantic waterfalls of the nearby Gottschläge valley.
